Kokopelli Trail

Here is a fun trail that looks to have some technical aspects as well as some good riding. This one looks best to do in September/October time frame.

I did run accross the Kokopelli trail as I was looking for a good ride - but initially wrote it off since, as the initial article states, "Most people do it in five days. Six will make it a more casual ride, four is good for small groups that are in shape."

It's not a perfect option for our two-day stint, but I think it's worth considering if we trim it down a bit.

Looking at the map, I think a reasonable route would be to get on south of Cisco at the Dewey Bridge ( 38°48'45.54"N 109°18'5.44"W) and head toward Moab.

The article says that it includes (at the end if coming from Frutia; beginning if coming from Moab) the famous Slickrock Trail which would be a blast to ride.

Amazon has what looks to be a good guide book. Check it out here. I'm hoping to find out where we could get water along the trail (just a minor detail, water....)

I think Dewey to Moab would be pretty difficult as that is where you gain all the elevation. Is slick rock rated high or low? I like the guidebook. If we decide to do this trail, we should get the guide book you recommend. Lets look to see if there are other trails that would be alternatives to this. I would love to find something that is a little less deserty.

I neglected to mention that we could go from Moab to Dewey.
